With just one month left until the big release, Image Comics posted a small teaser for The Walking Dead issue #100 on Tuesday. The image simply states “Lucille is coming”. But who is Lucille? The internet is abuzz trying to figure out who she is, and why she’s so important. Theories range from Lucille being a new member of Rick’s group, maybe a dangerous antagonist, or even the zombie featured on Frank Quitely’s issue #100 variant cover.

This isn’t the first piece of excellent advertising for the comic’s milestone issue. We’ve also seen a whopping nine variant covers revealed, all as gruesome as the next. On top of that Kirkman has partnered with Hyundai to create a real life zombie survival vehicle. The car, which will be unveiled at Comic-Con International, includes a CB radio and cow-catcher, and has been dubbed the Hyundai Zombie Survival Machine. San Diego Comic-Con will also hold the very first Walking Dead Escape. The 35-45 minute obstacle course will give participants a terrifying glimpse into the zombie apocalypse, and feature an undead horde made up by FX master Greg Nicotero.

Even with all this excitement, there’s one thing we can’t lose sight of: issue #100 is going to knock our socks off! In a recent interview Kirkman has said that the issue, which comes out on July 11th, will be the “most gruesome, most violent, disturbing issue” yet, and with everything that’s happened in the comic so far, that’s really saying a lot! If you don’t want to miss out on all the fun, be sure to add The Walking Dead to your pull list at Big B Comics, and if you have any theories about the mysterious Lucille let us know!
