This Saturday May 7th is the 10th anniversary of my favourite tradition in the comic book industry: FREE COMIC BOOK DAY

Come join us at Big B Comics for a day of unmatched revelry. We will have:

  • Free Comics – LOTS of them
  • Free Barbeque prepared by our famous gourmet Scott
  • An appearance by Richard Comely from 10-1
  • Free sketches from Mr. Comely, the creator of Captain Canuck
  • Appearances by Superman and the Flash and the 4th annual Superman vs the Flash race
  • Lots more!

In addition to all that, this year we are also doing a couple cool promotions to celebrate the spirit of comics and reading and fun and all things awesome. All day long we are going to be polling kids to find out what school they go to. The school that sends us the largest number of students will win totally free of charge $250 worth of graphic novels for their school library! I know of several librarians that are organizing mass trips already so the competition should be fierce.

Promo #2 is an old favourite. Now, every year we do limit the number of freebies that you can take on FCBD (it is 4 per person). BUT, because we love to reward anyone who loves reading, we are giving out 2 additional free comics to anyone who shows us their Hamilton Public Library card on FCBD. Reading really does pay off!

All the action starts Saturday at 10 am. See you then!
