DC is now officially in the swing of their second big Bat-family event, Death of the Family. It officially kicked off in Batman #13 (of which second prints are now available), teased a bit further in Catwoman #13 and Batgirl #13, and now continued this past week with Batman #14, Batgirl #14 and Suicide Squad #14.

Joker’s back with a vengeance, now with a removable face which just increases his creepiness factor by at least 5 times. For big fans of Batman, you’ll be treated with a lot of call-backs to big Joker vs Batman moments, especially The Killing Joke, which is referenced many times in the main Batman series. This arc is leaving no stone unturned, involving everyone from Gordon to Harley Quinn to Nightwing to Alfred. The Joker sure isn’t Joking about his return.

This story arc is running until #17 of Batman, involving Batgirl, Catwoman, Suicide Squad, Batman & Robin, Detective Comics, Nightwing, Red Hood and Teen Titans along the way. It’s not too late to catch up, and you don’t have to have read all of the series (I’d recommend just Batman if you’re on a budget), nor do you have to have read the previous issues to really follow along (although it would certainly make the experience better), so come in to Big B to figure out which issues you want put into your pull box!
