This last week the newest Previews issue came out, and since the Marvel Now! event doesn’t end until February (maybe even March, who really knows anymore) I have taken a look for any more cancellations/re-numberings/new series. First let’s have a quick recap of what the Marvel Now! event is.

Marvel is not rebooting the universe. They are simply rearranging the teams, renaming some of their series (for example Amazing Spider-Man becoming Superior Spider-Man), and starting a few new series (for example Avengers Arena).  The past will be referenced and consequences of recent events (for example Avengers vs X-Men) will be present. Unfortunately that means that not all of the series are the great jumping on point for Marvel that we may have hoped. For more information on that, you can take a look at my review on the Marvel #1 issues that have been released so far. My review judges whether each one is a good jumping on point or not.

  • X-Men #41 is the final issue of this series
    • At the end of an era, Storm puts a team together to search for the start of the next
    • In the field, will Angel challenge her for leadership?
  • Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1
    • Move over Avengers…the Guardians got this
    • Star-Lord. Gamora. Drax. Rocket Raccoon. Groot. …and the Invincible Iron Man?!
    • The Marvel Universe just got bigger as the legendary cosmic epic returns in the hands of superstar creators Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers, All-New X-Men) and Steve McNiven (Civil War, Old Man Logan)
    • In this special prelude issue meet the man behind the Guardians: Star-Lord… and discover how this child of Earth became the leader of the rag-taggiest of teams in all the Galaxy. All setting the stage for next month’s (March) historic Guardians of the Galaxy #1. This is the start of something big, Marvel fans

    • The Human Rocket returns!
    • You’ve followed him through the history making (and changing!) AvX and now the mystery of the all-new Nova is revealed in this breathtaking new ongoing by the best-selling, award winning team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness (RED HULK, Avengers X-Sanction)
    • Sam Alexander is a kid bound by the gravity of a small town and a father whose ridiculous, drunken fairy tales about a “Nova Corps” were just another heavy burden in a life full of them. But luckily for Sam Alexander…soon gravity won’t even matter. And those troubles? It’s like they’re a billion miles away
